Care Instructions

Our flower crowns, bridal Stephana, hair accessories, jewellery, handbags and bridal garments are hand made with love and dedication. They are crafted for that very special occasion in your life but, by their nature, are delicate and need to be treated with special care for long-lasting beauty.

Like our namesake, the Gardenia, the pieces are beautiful but bruise easily. 

 

Here are some tips in helping you care for your unique piece from MY GARDENIA. 

 

Jewellery, Bridal Stephana and Flower Crowns :

Store your special MY GARDENIA item in the separate pouch provided  in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, avoiding all moisture. 

Avoid direct contact with chemicals such as hairspray, perfumes, body lotions, sprays, deodorants, any beauty products, cleaning detergents etc. All these products will dull and harm your item.

All pieces in our range have small, delicate details that would be harmed if vigorously cleaned or treated roughly.

Metal sections may naturally lose their shine over time from oxygen and body oils. This is unavoidable.  Do not use water or cleaning products on the metal surfaces but use a soft cloth to gently wipe off any oils or dust the item has collected.

For areas where polymer clay has been used, a slightly damp cloth may be wiped gently over the surface to remove dust and body oils. 

 

Handbags:

Our handbags are primarily made using 100% cotton fabrics and/or leather as a base for our hand stitched embroidery.

All our handbags are sprayed with a protective film of ‘Mr. Sheen, Care Guard’ Fabric and Upholstery Protector.  This will go some way in protecting your handbag.   However, fabrics and leather naturally absorb such items as makeup, perfume and other spilt liquids.  Should you accidentally expose your handbag to situations such as heavy rain or a spill, we suggest dabbing the area with a soft cloth as quickly as possible.  Should stains occur, it is best to have your handbag professionally cleaned. When your handbag is not in use, store it safely in the dust bag provided.

 

Garments:

As with all our products, MY GARDENIA  garments are handmade, detailed and delicate.

Garments should preferably be dry-cleaned or if necessary, they may be soaked in a generous tub of cold to lukewarm water with a mild detergent.  Gently agitate the garment in the water, avoiding any vigorous scrubbing/rubbing. Rinse gently and lay your garment on a clean towel to dry. Avoid hanging the garment when wet as this will stretch and deform delicate fabrics.

 

 

Caution: Do not wash the garment in a washing machine, or dry it in a tumble dryer or iron with a hot iron.
